LACMA ART+FILM Gala 2017

Electronic Countermeasures was commissioned to create abstract screen art for LACMA’s ART + FILM 2017 Gala. This year was especially fun, challenging, and fulfilling. We had to find creative intersections between the work of the evening's honorees; Mark Bradford and George Lucas along with Gucci’s current line “The Alchemist's Garden.” We opted to create a lush, dense and intriguing environment with of the evenings looks by using hand-created under the camera and practical effects playing with light, shadow, depth, and materiality. We worked with paper, plants, ice, projection, light, and liquids. We were also honored to work directly with Annie Lennox to create the screen looks for her solo performance to close out an enchanting evening.
